Langtang Region

Langtang region is protected as Langtang National Park, located north of the capital city and bordering Tibet. This is considered Nepal's nearest and most easily reachable but spectacular trekking destination. It has several high summits including Langtang Lirung. This region's ultimate destination is Cross Lauribinayak Pass. Surprisingly, you get to see nearly all of Nepal's major Himalayas ranging from Makalu in the East to Annapurna in the West. From this region Ganesh Himal and Manaslu can also be seen. Hence, after the regions of Everest and Annapurna, Langtang is the most preferred destination for trekkers coming to Nepal.

Langtang region includes beautiful places with natural as well as religious tenets. We can explore a variety of landscapes in this area, from the holy lakes of Gosainkunda to the natural hot springs. Trekkers will appreciate the varied Sherpa and Tamang people culture and lifestyle. Here, people earn their living by tourism and yak farming. Yak cheese factory is one of the destinations to be in here too. People here are believed to have been of Tibetan descent. Therefore you can witness the cross cultural richness of ethnic Tibetan and Nepali communities as well. Tamang, Lama, Gurung and Sherpa culture groups living in this area look similar to Tibetans. Hindus and devotees of the Buddhist religious faith visit this area.
