Bardia National Park is the largest and tranquil wildlife conservation area in Nepal. Originally established as Royal Bardia National Park in the year 1988 A.D. This national park is famous for the Bengal Tigers hence it is an ideal place for Bardia Jungle Safari Tour.

Jungle Safari in Bardia National Park offers an exciting wildlife journey of an untouched region of Bardia National park. This royal park covers an area of 374 sq.miles; and resides on the bank of the Karnali River (east) and divided by the Babai River.

More than 70 percent of park area covers forest along with grasslands, savanna, and riparian forest. It is residence to 642 faunal species that include 53 mammals, 23 reptiles, 407 birds and 127 fishes.

Detail Itinerary

After arrival at Nepalgunj Domestic Airport, the hotel representative will pick you up and lead you to the hotel; where hotel staff will welcome you with refreshing fruit drinks and then escorted to your rooms. Taking some rest and refreshment, our tour operator.guide will give you a short briefing of todays and upcoming programs.

After taking some rest from Lunch, we start our wildlife safari in Bardia National Park. Initially, we go on a cultural tour around Tharu villages and museums; and explore new things about them and their culture. Then, we visit Crocodile Breeding centers and finally viewing the sunsets from the Karnali or Babai river. We have dinner at Bardia Jungle Resort with a cultural program of Tharu community people.

Time Schedule for Day 1;

Departure to Nepalgunj by domestic airlines

1.00 P.M: Arrival at Bardia Jungle Resort & Welcome drinks and Program Briefing

2.00 P.M: Lunch and Rest

4.00 P.M: Visit Local Tharu Village, Elephant stable, Riverside sunset view

7.00 P.M: Dinner

8.00 P.M: Enjoyable Local Culture program

The next day kicks off with wakeup calls along with refreshing tea/coffee. After getting refreshed, you go on Elephant Jungle Safari Tour where you can view rare animals and birds. You can also Bardia National park Jeep Safari tour that takes you deep part of the forest where you see less visible animals and birds.

This national park is home to above 100 species of birds, therefore, making it a perfect spot of birds watching.  Here you can encounter  Bengal florican, white-rumped vulture, peafowl, grey-crowned prinia, jungle Prinia, Pale-footed bush warbler, aberrant bush warbler, striated grassbird, and many more birds species. For walkers, there is a nature walk tour that takes you among the forest wildlife ecosystem. 

Take a canoe ride on the Karnali river and have a lifetime glimpse of Gangetic Dolphins and gharials lying on the sand.

05.30 A.M: Wake- up call followed by tea/coffee.

07:30 A.M: Dugout canoe trip

08:30 A.M: Visit the elephant breeding farm/ Swimming & elephant bath

09:30 A.M: Enjoy an ox-cart ride or a jeep drive back to the resort

11:00 A.M: Elephant ride / Nature walk / Visit the observation tower

01:00 P.M- Lunch

02:30 P.M: Tiger & one-horned rhino  hunting tour

07:30 P.M- Dinner

This is the last day for Bardia Wildlife Tour before leaving you can have elephant safari and birds watching and nature walk.

Time Schedule for Day 3;

05:30 A.M- Wakeup call, Tea & Coffee

06:00 A.M- Bird watching tour

08:00 A.M- Breakfast and return back to Kathmandu

Best Season to Jungle Safari in Bardia National Park

From September-November and March-May is the best time to visit Bardia National Park. The weather during this time is moderate for jungle safari and chances of meeting animals and birds is also high. During December-February, the weather is extremely cold; it becomes very difficult to see animals and birds as they go for winter hibernation. Similarly, June-August is the monsoon season where heavy rains, lightning, storms make jungle safari very difficult and irritating.
