Tour Overview

Ama Dablam is a spectacular mountain that resides in the Everest Region in the Himalayas of Nepal. Literally, Ama means’ mother’ and Dablam means’ necklace of pearl’. Ama Dablam Expedition combines cultural trek into base camp with technical rock, snow and ice climbing. Stunning panoramic summit views of Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu along the route greet every trekker and climber. Some of the world’s top alpinists consider Ama Dablam’s South West ridge as a safe route, free from avalanches.

The expedition begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gate of Everest. Then it follows the normal trekking route up to Ama Dablam base camp (4500m). After arrival at Ama Dablam base camp, you spend a couple of days for acclimatization. While our expedition crew stock all the food and ensure everything equipment is working properly before the expedition.

Climbing guides fix the route and prepare camps on the Southwest Ridge. Staying a couple of days allows you for optimal adjustment to the new altitudes and environment. Now, the climb begins and everyone is really excited for the challenge ahead. Our guides place two to three camps along with the beautiful Southwest Ridge; where you can experience dramatic and exposed views of the Himalayas.

Our Sherpa team carries all of the ropes, hardware, group sleeping and cooking equipment for the high camps; while the members need to spend at least two nights at camp one and one night at camp two.

If you have good skills on rock and ice climbing and technically competent to climbing; then Nepal Hiking Adventure is happy to organize your expedition to Ama Dablam. And makes distinctly a successful, most enjoyable and memorable one. You can extend your Ama Dablam Expedition with Everest Base Camp Trek for extra adventure.
