Once you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, one of our team members from Nepal Hiking Adventure will welcome you. After landing, you will be transferred to your hotel via a short 30-minute drive. You can check in and relax at your hotel.

After breakfast at your hotel in Kathmandu, you will take a 2-3 hour scenic drive to Dhap Bazaar (1,800 m). From Dhap Bazaar, you will start a 4-5 hour trek to Japre (2,100 m). On the way, you will see green terraced fields, rhododendron forests, and traditional Sherpa villages. The trail has moderate uphill and downhill sections, helping you adjust to the altitude gradually. You will spend the night in a cozy lodge, and meals for the day include breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Trek from Japre (2,100 m) to Pikey Base Camp (4,065 m)
On day 3 of Pikey Peak Trek, you will have breakfast at Japre, and then trek to Pikey Base Camp (4,065 m) begins. The first part is 4-5 hours of slightly uphill walking on rocky trails. Along the way, you will enjoy clear views of Mt. Everest and other lower Himalayan peaks, pass through resting spots like Bhulbhule, and see yak farms. We stop at Lhmuje (3,380 m) for lunch.
The second part of the trek from Lhmuje to Pikey Base Camp is moderately tiring but rewarding, with beautiful mountain scenery and alpine landscapes. At the Pikey Base Camp lodge, the local community welcomes you with traditional songs, dances, and local cuisines, giving a true Sherpa cultural experience. You will spend the night at the lodge, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Early in the morning, we follow the winding path toward Pikey Peak Base Camp. The viewpoints at Pikey Base Camp are considered some of the best sunrise viewpoints in Nepal. From here, trekkers can enjoy a panoramic view of snow-capped mountains, including Everest, Numbur, Thamserkhu, Kanchenjunga, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Gaurishankar, Dorje Lakpa, and Langtang.
After enjoying the magical sunrise and breakfast, we begin the descent to Loding (2,400 m). The trek passes through rhododendron forests, terraced fields, and small Sherpa villages, and along the way, you may spot local farmers and their yaks, offering a glimpse of life in the Everest region. After having breakfast early at Loding, we walk down through rhododendron forests and dry grasslands to reach Taktor, where the trails from the Jiri route for the Everest Base Camp Trek connect. Taktor has several developed teahouses and lodges, making it a good rest stop.
From Taktor, after a couple of hours walking along dusty trails, we arrive at Junbesi (2,670 m), a beautiful traditional Sherpa village. Here, you can explore the ancient Thubten Choling Monastery, mani stones, and stupas, experiencing the local culture and spirituality. We overnight at a comfortable lodge in Junbesi, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Trek from Junbesi (2,670 m) to Taksindu (2,931 m)
After breakfast at Junbesi, we begin our trek to Taksindu, initially descending with a few gentle uphill sections. The trail provides clear views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and crosses a wooden bridge over Junbesi Khola. Trekking through green hills, farmlands, and valleys, we cross the suspension bridge over Dudhkunda Khola and reach Ringmo village, famous for apple, peach, and apricot beverages, local alcohol, and dried apple snacks.
From Ringmo, we take a moderate hike to Taksindu La (3,071 m), a viewpoint offering breathtaking panoramas of green valleys, forests, farmland, and distant snow-capped peaks including Everest and Numbur. Descending from Taksindu La, we arrive at the Taksindu Monastery (2,931 m), built in 1946 by a respected Rinpoche. Surrounded by mani walls and prayer flags, the monastery gives trekkers a peaceful cultural experience. We overnight at a lodge in Taksindu, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

Trek from Taksindu (2,931 m) to Phaplu (2,550 m), Visit Chiwong Monastery

On descending toward Phaplu, we visit the historic Chiwong Monastery, built in 1923. This peaceful Buddhist site offers insight into local Sherpa culture, traditions, and rituals, and is surrounded by mani walls, prayer flags, and scenic hills, creating a serene stop for reflection.
After the monastery visit, the trail gently continues downward, eventually reaching Phaplu (2,550 m). Here, trekkers can relax at their lodge, recalling all the unforgettable memories created during the journey. Overnight is at Phaplu lodge, with traditional meals included.
