As there are many hills surrounding Kathmandu valley, you will encounter winding path as well as uphills and downhills along the way. Trisuli Bazaar is one very popular market that you will come across on your way to Syabrubesi.

As the vegetation change, you will see plenty of maize and millet terraced fields instead of the rice paddy fields in the low altitude regions. There will also be a noticeable change in the people as well as culture. After driving for a few hours from Trishuli Bazaar, you will arrive at Dhunche (1,780m). Dhunche is a major town of the Langtang region. Langtang National Park is where Dhunche lies. After driving for 1 - 2 hours from Dhunche, you will reach Syabrubesi village (1460 meters) for your overnight stay.

Today is the start of your trekking journey. After trekking for 5-6 hours from Syabrubesi, you will reach Lama Hotel(3430 meters). Firstly, you will trek downhill to Bhote Koshi River. After that, you will walk along a path along Langtang Khola.

You can also hear some fantastic sound of the nearby river during your stay in Lama Hotel.

You will leave Lama Hotel after having breakfast. The initial part of today’s trek takes you along a cool shade of rhododendron and oaks forest. The forested route today is a mild uphill trail.

Trekking for a few hours takes you to a gorge. As you walk on a sloping track along torrent glacial river Trishuli, you will reach a settlement called Ghore-Tabela. The literal translation of the Nepali word “Ghore-Tabela” is “Horse Stable” in English. Ghore-Tabela is a wonderful setting surrounded by pine, hemlock, and rhododendron forests.

You will have a small rest here after which you will resume trekking to your final destination of today’s trek- Langtang village.

You will trek through cool shade of the alpine wood for an hour, leaving the tree line behind. On your way to Langtang village, you will encounter some uphills as well as winding tracks.

After a trek of 5-6 hours from Lama Hotel, you will reach Langtang village(3430 meters), where you will spend your night. Langtang village gives you awesome views of the Langtang Himal in the north of this valley.

After having breakfast in the Langtang village, you will prepare for the trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3870 meters).

The initial part of today’s trek is quite gentle for a short while. After that, you will trek along winding up hills. Along the way, you will find vegetation of Burberry and high alpine shrubs.

The trail is also blessed with "mani-prayer wall". If you want to pay proper respect to the faith of Tibetan Buddhism, you should trek past these prayer walls in the clockwise direction.

Heading in the eastern direction, you will notice the Langtang valley opening up. The trek then gently takes you to grassy meadows. You can also enjoy some delightful views of snow-capped peaks on the background.

As you gain some mild altitude as you trek uphill, you will reach Kyanjin Gompa (3870 meters). Today’s trek is 3-4 hours long.

Kyanjin Gompa is set beautifully amidst panoramic views of the towering mountains of Langtang range.

As the Langtang Lirung (7,234m) peak is quite near to Kyanjin Gompa, you will get the best views of this mountain from Kyanjin Gompa. The views of the icefall of this mountain is equally superb.

The Kyanjin Gompa monastery is set beautifully at the of a ridge. This makes it a great vantage point to see the surrounding peaks. You can also stroll to the cheese factory in the area surrounding Kyanjin Gompa. Another fun hike to explore is the hike up the moraine. You can also climb up to Kyanjin Ri (4,350 m).

After the exploration of the natural as well as the cultural beauty of Kyanjin region, it is time to head back down. Today, you will head back down to Lama Hotel(3430 meters) on a 6-7 hour trekking journey.

You will take the same trail on your way down with which you trekked up to Kyanjin. As you trek past rhododendron forests, you will reach settlements like Langtang valley and Ghore-Tabela before descending to the Trishuli river. A gentle trek from Trishuli will take you to Lama Hotel, where you will spend your night.

Today, you will lose around 2000 meters in altitude as you trek to Syabrubesi(1460 meters). This is a  5-hour trekking journey.

After breakfast, you will start your trek from Lama Hotel. The trail lies along a hillside. At first, you will get to large a Sherpa settlement. A gentle downhill trek from there will take you to Bridhim village.

You will see some delightful views of Ganesh Himal range and Tibetan Himalayas. You will see the horizontal views of Langtang valley, on your descent to Syabrubesi. The trekking trail descends further to the confluence of Langtang River and Bhote Koshi River.

Alternative Route:

You can also trek to Syabrubesi from Lama Hotel on an alternative route. This is a shorter route. But there is a downside to this trail. It is devoid of the views of the mountains.

This route is also unfit to trek in the summer season. There are many parts of trek where you might encounter some landslide-prone area.

The trekking trail along this alternative track follows Langtang River downstream. It takes you down the valley to Syabrubesi from where you will take a bus to Kathmandu the next day.

Today, you will head back to Kathmandu after having breakfast in Syabrubesi. The duration of this bus ride is around 7-8 hours.

There are a few turns along the way. You will also encounter some bumpy road as some part of the track is off-road. This is the same road back to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi.

This will be your final day in this awesome country of the Himalayas- Nepal.

We will drop you at the airport a couple of hours before your scheduled flight. Before leaving for the airport, you need to confirm that you have secured tour air ticket as well as other travel related documents.

Langtang Valley Trek Route

Your route begin by arriving in Kathmandu. When you land at the airport, our representatives will approach you and will take to our designated hotel. In Day1 we will be well familiar with one another and will decide in advance and will prepare for the upcoming trek. We also visits several UNESCO sites in Kathmandu.

We will leave Kathmandu early for the seven-hour journey to the Shyabru Besi. The road climbs which is high over ridges as it leaves the Kathmandu Valley, and provides impressive views for the Annapurna Himalayas in the west, to Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the peaks for the Langtang region ahead. We also drive through the bustling town of Trisuli before climbing downy at the  Dunche and the Langtang National Park. After the town of Dunche it is another hour downhill at Syabru Besi.

Then we will acclimatize at Lama Hotel after which we will climb through forest, with occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung which is between the trees. At Ghoda Tabela (3,000 m. / 9,842 ft) the trail will emerges from the forest and the mountains will loom at  either side of the valley. Once there was a Tibetan resettlement project here, but now it is a Nepal Army post with no residence. The trail will continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements which is used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer. You will also most possibly see a glimpse of your first yak if you haven’t already.

From Mundu, the trail also climbs gradually through the yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive and deeper. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail also reaches the settlement in Kyangjin. Here there is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory, which is a good spot to stock up for lunch and afternoon snacks. As you will arrive through lunchtime there is time to take it easy in the afternoon or explore the area.

You will also see the spectacular ice faces and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung or ascend Kyangjin Ri which is directly behind the village, for a breath-taking panorama for the Langtang peaks.

From Kyangjin retrace at the route you followed up the valley which is followed by the Langtang Khola to Mundu village and at the Ghora Tabela. The descent will certainly be quicker than the ascent. After lunch, continue the steep descent down to the  Lama Hotel

Continue retracing your steps at the Syabru Besi, enjoying the quiet forest hills. If you are feeling fit, take the spectacular route through Rimche through Sherpa Gaon to Syabru Besi; it will take much longer to reach the ultimate destination, but it’s a stunning tour.

We will later depart for Kathmandu and Time to say farewell to Nepal. Enjoy your last moments in Kathmandu with a decent breakfast in a café, a quick city stroll, and do souvenir shopping. A representative will meet you at your hotel and drive you to the airport for your return flight home.
