With a total length of 1,700 kilometers (1,056 miles), it connects the world’s most famous major mountain ranges of Nepal. This is not only a journey, it is also an important part of Himalayan research. The origin of the route can be traced back to the creation of The Great Himalayan Trail in 2011 by local residents of Busted and Nepal, which is considered to be one of the most challenging trekking routes and maps in the world.

The Great Himalaya Trail provides a different atmosphere from the sub-tropical terrain to the highest mountain while visiting this area, you can enjoy seeing snow leopards, red pandas, and other animals, especially the Sherpas, Tamangs, Gurungs, Rais, Limbus, and indigenous peoples. Great Himalayan Trail Environment.

The Great Himalayan Walk is divided into 10 parts based on tourism and terrain. This division into 10 parts makes it easy to work and develop tourism in all areas.   These are from Kanchenjunga in East Nepal to Farhest Darwheula in Eastern Nepal.  The 10 parts include the Kanchenjunga region, Makalu-Barun, Everest-Rolwling, Helmbu-Lamtang, Ganesh Himal-Manlu, Annapurna and Mustang, Dolpa, Jumla, Humla, and Far West Nepal. Kanchenjunga region.

Kanchenjunga Region is in Eastern Nepal. Kandjung, the third largest mountain in the world, is in our Top One at the beginning of our tour, especially the Himalayan big trail, starting with this mountain, 8,586 meters high. Mount Kanchenzunga divides Nepal from Sikkim. Though other parts of Nepal can have development, the huge Himalaya trail cuts across many inaccessible and difficult spots in the region.  The Kanchenjunga region is a central spot for adventure activities. The region possesses natural diversity and biodiversity, while the northern region is also a central spot for Sherpa culture. The area is inhabited by the dominant Sherpa, Limbu, Rai, and Lohmi tribes, who in no way lack hospitality towards guests.

The area is of religious, cultural, archaeological, and historical significance. Furthermore, the area is a perfect location with its geo-natural features and biodiversity. The region boasts the world’s most endangered snow leopards and hyenas, and plants such as the protected and endangered animals such as the Himalayas Musk Deer and Houler, and Kutki Jatmy, fragrant Anand, Five-Life Talasapatra. Makalu-Barun

The Makalu-Barun region is home to the Makalu Mountains, the fifth-highest mountain in the world at 8,463 meters. Hiking in this area is considered difficult, so foreign tourists rarely go here. There are not many bridges on the rivers here. Probably due to the lack of development here, it could not come within the reach of so many tourists. The best time to visit this area can be spent in the months of Asej and Katik, during which the monsoon is considered to be good.

Makalu-Barun National Park is located in this area, it was established in 2049 (1992). About 440 species of birds, 150 species of butterflies, 25 species of butterflies, 47 species of orchids (Sunakhri)67 species of medicinal herbs like caterpillar fungus and cinquefoil, And there are abundant mountain herbs found in this park. There are more than 75 species of mammals.

Everest-Rollwalling.

 The Great Himalayas is a single trek; Mount Everest in Nepal is known as Chamelungma in Tibet and is known worldwide as Mount Everest.  Mount Everest is considered the jewel of the Khumbu region and one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

The region is also home to ethnic groups, notably the Tamang, Sherpa, Gurung, and Thami. Although it is not a protected area, the mountains are home to many butterflies, herbs birds, and animals.

It is also a trekking route along the Great Himalayas, which offers panoramic views of the mountains through this region, as well as the hospitality and culture of the Sherpa people.

Helambu-Langtang.

Helambu is also one of the Himalayan routes on our 120-day trip. The Great Himalayan Trail. Located in the Langtang region on the northern border of Nepal, the region consists of various mountains such as Langtang Lirung (7246 m), Mr. Gang Chhenpae (6388 m), New Kangri (5846 m), and Mr. Daerje Lakpa (6966 m). Ganesh Himal-Manaslu.

Ganesh Himal is spread in Nuwakot, Dhading, and Gorkha, the three main districts of Nepal. It extends to the border of Nepal and Tibet; it is named after the Hindu god Ganesh Ji, and it is an important area under our big project, The Great Himalaya Trail. Mount Ganesh (7406 m) is the highest mountain in the world, and Mount Manaslu (8176 m) is the highest mountain in the world. It is also known as Manasa in Sanskrit.  Manaslu was first climbed in 1956. Both of these are major tourist attractions.

Manaslu.

We are going to tell you about a very popular mountain, Manaslu. This mountain falls under the important section of our Great Himalayan Trail. The name Manaslu is said to have come from the Sanskrit word “Manas,” which means soul or intellect, which is why this mountain is also known as the Mountain of the Spirit.

The first ascent of the mountain was made on May 9, 1956, by Japanese mountaineer Toshio Imanishi and Sherpa Gyalzen Norbu, which is considered a major achievement for the Japanese team. The Manaslu region was considered a restricted area until 1991. It was only then opened. The Great Himalayan Trail (GHT) has been established as an important event.

It was officially launched in 2009, and the Manaslu region is included in its research and planning (2004-2009).

The geographical and natural features of the region include glaciers like Larke and other small glaciers. These rivers make the trek through the region more exciting. Similarly, the region is also rich in biodiversity. The Great Himalayan Trail (GHT) is the main attraction of the Manaslu Protected Area, which is home to snow leopards, Himalayan musk deer, red pandas, and various species of birds like the Himalayan monal. The region is also home to more than 1,500 species of flowering plants, many of which are medicinal.

One can enjoy the magnificent views of Manaslu Himal (7,893 m), Nagdi Chuli (7,871 m), and Ganesh Himal. Similarly, the cultural importance of this region is also great; among the castes, Gurung, Tamang, and Shepa, etc, are living in this region, and they practice agriculture and follow Hinduism.

The religious places of this region include the old Buddhist monasteries near Samagaon, such as Samdo Monastery, Larke La Pass, and Prayed flags. The region has a simple lifestyle, and traditional dances (such as Ghatu and Sorathi) are famous.

The Tuki tradition is still alive in the Manaslu region, so we can take the Grade Himalayan Trail as a combination of adventure, cultural, and natural experiences in the Manaslu section. We can see this region as a unique glimpse of the Himalayan splendor, local lifestyle, and biodiversity. The Great Himalayan Trail can be completed in 2-3 weeks. Annapurna and Mustang.

Today we are going to tell you about the famous treks under the Nepal Great Himalayan Trail. From this route, we can enjoy various scenic views, the environment of the route, and the entire range, especially the Dhaulagiri Himal (8168 meters) and Annapurna Himal-1 (8091 meters). It covers an area of ​​7,629 square kilometers, which is considered one of the best trekking routes in the world.

1200 plant species, 100 mammals, and 488 species of birds have been recorded here, as well as various types of birds like Lophophorus impezanus, Monal, Kalij, etc. have also been recorded in this area. We can also travel to Muktinath through the grain-rich area using this area. The main tourist destinations are Ghandruk, Gharepani, Annapurna Base Camp, Jasem, Muktinath, and Manang.

Dolpa

Now we are going to tell you about the Dalpa region of our trip, Himalayan Trails Nepal.  Now our program is reaching Dhappa district, which is very important to know about, which is located in the Dolpa district of the mid-western and Karnali region of Nepal. It is a remote Himalayan district. Open to tourists only since 1989, this area also includes the She-Phaksunde National Park at its center, which is a beautiful area surrounded by winding glaciers to the east and south.  This area is also very popular for hikers.  Dalpa district is also the largest district in Nepal in terms of land area, home to the highest peak of Mount Churen (7381 meters).

The region, which is connected to Tibet, is also home to a large amount of Himalayan culture, such as the sacred site of the Buddhists, which is said to have been developed as a holy place by Guru Rinpoche. Can’t explain why this area is so beautiful.

Rara and Jumla

The Great Himalaya Trail will also travel through the districts of Jumla and Mugu, which are also considered to be tourist hotspots, and at different times, government and private events are also held in these areas to attract tourists. Rara Lake, located in Mugu district, is considered to be the nymph of heaven and is also the largest lake in Nepal. With a sea level of 2972 meters, this lake is spread over 11 kilometers; in this lake, there are fish found nowhere else in the world (Himalayan fish are also found) Named after the lake, Rara National Park is spread over an area of 106 sq km and was established in 1976. It is spread from 1800 meters to 4048 meters The green environment here makes this area look like a paradise. Jumla district is also considered the birthplace of the Nepali language, and we will be passing through this region on our Himalayan trek.  This region is one of the highest rice-producing regions in the world, especially in the Khas Valley on the banks of the Tila River, where red rice varieties called Jumli Marsi and Black Marsi are grown.   You will be fascinated by the paintings carved on various idols of this region, the local art culture, and the variety of herbs and animals found here.

Humla.

The Great Himalayan Trail continues to the Humla district of Nepal, where you will not find road facilities, but through this route, tourists also visit Mount Kailash in Tibet. From this area, we will see two high mountains, Mount Api Himal (7132 meters) and Mount Saipal (7031 meters).

 The Great Himalayan Trail path of the Great Himalayan Walkway proceeds through Simikot, the headquarters of Humla, alongside the vintage Salt Trading Route. During this trek, the longest river of Nepal, Karnali, also falls on this route.  In addition, homes that mirror the artwork and lifestyle of Nepal can experience new surroundings. On the northern border of Humla, there may be a place called Hilsa from where one can easily preserve the journey by way of keeping off the hilly route.  From that area, one also can move back to the southeastern route, which breaks via the Limi Valley.

Far West (Nepal)

Great Himalaya Trail trekking permits and validity.

Trekking permits for Nepal are obligatory for the Great Himalayan Trail Trek, especially in restricted areas. Here’s what you need.

Although not everywhere in Nepal, some permits are required to trek the Great Himalayan Trail, especially if you are only trekking for a short distance. Trekkers should obtain a permit from the Information Management System (IMS), which costs between $10 and $20. (TIMS) Card. There is a fee to enter Makalu, Barun, and Rara National Parks. Some restricted areas, such as Dolpo, may require a permit costing $500 per week, while Humla may require a permit costing $50 per week. Therefore, when trekking in these areas, we should proceed only after understanding the local situation.

The ethnicities group of Nepal

Now for the information of you, we are giving you information about the tribes living in this area.

Sherpa: This ethnic group is also considered to be related to Tibetans, the main occupation of this ethnic group is as a porter or guide, who are particularly well-traveled. Which we can find abundant in Sagarmatha, Railwaling, Lukla area. This race is also seen as an adventurous race.

Tamang: This tribe, which lives in the mountainous regions of central Nepal, practices agriculture and animal husbandry, and lives in the Langtang and Helambu regions, practicing both Hinduism and Buddhism. They are considered a hardworking Himalayan and mountainous tribe.

Gurung: These castes are spread almost all over the country, especially in the western hills, more in the Gorkha army. The profession of these castes, especially in the defense of the country, is more settlements are found in the Annapurna and Manaslu regions. They follow both Hindu and Buddhist religions; they have their traditional dances and mother tongue.

Rai and Limbu: These tribes are native to eastern Nepal, they have the profession of being brave, working in the army of the country, mountain guides, and porters. These are the longest and highest footpaths in the world, stretching from Taplejung in the far east of Nepal to Darchula in the far west and Humla in the west.
