The Short Annapurna Base Camp trek 6 days is a beautiful trek that will take you to the base camp of Mount Annapurna in a short duration of time. This is a customized ABC Short trek. This is our special itinerary for those who are short in time and still want to do Annapurna Sanctuary trek.
The 6 days short ABC trek is a beautiful opportunity to explore the beauty of the Annapurna region in less time. This trek takes the trekkers through the immensely beautiful trekking trails of the ABC. Trekking to the base camp of gigantic Mt. Annapurna is a blissful moment.
You can enjoy the magnificent trails, the varying landscapes, glacial rivers, caves on the rocky cliffs, the cascading waterfalls, lush jungles, and many others. This trek route is highly enriched with natural amazement.
Along with being naturally captivating, this route is also popular because of its cultural uniqueness. Walking through numerous villages, you can witness how people live in the rural villages of Nepal. Along with that, you can also witness the local culture and traditional practices in the villages. Drive to Nayapul 55 km and Trek to Jhinu Danda hot spring
- Trekking Time: 5 hours
- Driving Time: 1 hour 30 minutes
- Altitude at Jhinu Danda: 1780 meters
Our trek starts with a drive to Nayapul from Pokhara. We will drive in a private vehicle. It will take us around an hour and a half to reach Nayapul from Pokhara. The ride is quite exciting. The road is uneven. Somewhere it is blacktopped whereas it is bumpy at places. Enjoying the short ride and scenic views along the road, we will reach Nayapul.
From Nayapul, we will start to trek. Trekking over the peaceful and scenic trails of Annapurna is a wonderful experience. We will walk for nearly five hours on our first day. The trail passes through many villages like Birethanti, Siwai, Kyumi, and to Jhinu. At the villages, you will see Tamangs, Gurungs, and other ethnic groups.
Our destination for the day is Jhinu Danda. At Jhinu danda there is a natural hot spring. Trekkers stop at Jhinu danda for a hot bath in the spring. We will hike to the hot spring after checking into our hotel. You can take a relaxing hot bath in the spring.

Jhinu Danda to Sinuwa /Bamboo trek
- Trekking Time: 6 hours
- Altitude at Bamboo: 2310 meters
In the morning, you can have a breakfast of your choice at the lodge in Jhinu Danda. After breakfast, we will set off on the trekking trail towards Bamboo. The is stone-paved stairs. You must have a strong knee to trek in Annapurna. The trekking trail gets even more exciting on our second day. On this day, you will be trekking through amazing villages, lush jungles, cascading waterfalls, and beautiful Bamboo forests.
In between Jhinu Danda and Bamboo village, there are two major villages of Annapurna. The Sinuwa village and Choomrong village are big villages where you will see beautiful houses, people wearing their traditional attire, people raring different cattle, and many others.
We will walk through the villages looking at how people live a basic way of life. Their tradition, culture, and hospitality are remarkable. The trail is a blend of natural and cultural amazement. Enjoying the peaceful trail and astonishing sceneries around, we will finally reach Bamboo.
Bamboo is a beautiful village where there are many teahouses and lodges. We will stay overnight in one of those. A relaxing sleep after a 6 hours walk in Bamboo village.
Bamboo to Deurali trek
- Trekking Time: 4 to 5 hours
- Altitude at Deurali: 3230 meters
After a nice breakfast at Bamboo, we will start to trek. Starting to trek from Bamboo, we will walk into a dense bamboo forest. This part of the trail going through the forest is damp and is cold as well. The trail is steep somewhere. We will walk through the ascending trail inside the forest.
As we reach closer to Himalaya, the dense forest gets thinner and opens up. We will finally see the warm morning sun smiling at us. From Himalaya, we will see a beautiful view of a glacial river down below.
From Himalaya, the trail becomes a bit tougher. The trail from Himalaya to Hinku cave is quite challenging. We will make a climb steeply through a beautiful forest. Unlike the previous bamboo forest, this forest is much drier. After a splendid walk through the amazing forest, we will reach Hinku Cave.
From Hinku cave, we will descend through the beautiful trail until we meet a river. We will cross the river over a bridge. The trail now ascends towards Deurali. The trail is peaceful. This is the most scenic part of the trekking trail from Bamboo to Deurali.
On climbing up, you will see how the number of vegetation lessens with altitude. Ascending through the trail, you will see the beautiful valley and the amazingly flowing river below. You will also see rocky cliffs above from where the water falling make small waterfalls.
Enjoying the cheerful trail and blissful moments, we will finally reach Deurali. Deurali is a tranquil village in Annapurna with many teahouses and lodges around. We will stay at one of those.
Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp Trek
- Trekking Time: 5 to 6 hours
- Altitude at Annapurna Base Camp: 4130 meters
And finally, the day is here. Today, we will be trekking to Annapurna Base Camp from Deurali. After having our breakfast in Deurali, we will set off on the trekking trail towards Annapurna Base Camp. We will walk uphill past the avalanche site. Here, the valley widens up exhibiting striking views of snowy peaks.
Today, since we are going towards higher altitudes, we must trek slow and steady. After a gradual climb to Machhapuchhre Base Camp, we will take a long break there. This break is for acclimatization. Today, you will be spending night at Annapurna Base Camp. Thus, you must acclimatize with the thin air at the Himalayas.
From Machhapuchre Base Camp, you will see astonishing views of Macchapuchre Himal, Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli and Gangapurna. Rejoicing the amazing views, we will start our one-hour climb towards Annapurna Base Camp.
On the way, you will see the beautiful Himalayas so close and so beautiful. Finally, after reaching Annapurna base camp, you will see the enthralling views of many Himalayas. Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Singu Chuli, Khangsar Kang, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and Annapurna South.
We will stay in a lodge at Annapurna Base Camp today.
Annapurna Base Camp to Sinuwa trek
Today, we will see a beautiful sunrise view over the glistening peaks. The 360-degree aligned peaks look mesmerizing at the time of sunrise. All the peaks: Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Singu Chuli, Khangsar Kang, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and Annapurna South looks majestic. The vista is out of the world.
After the sunrise view, we will trek back to Sinuwa. On the way back, we will bid goodbye to the enthralling views of white Himalayas. We will trek back via Macchapuchre Base Camp, Deurali, Himalaya, Dobhan, and Bamboo.
Trekking through these settlements feels amazing. You will have opportunities to interact with the locals. You can also know about their culture, way of life, traditions, and religions if you like to. After hours of trekking, we will finally reach Sinuwa.
Overnight in Sinuwa.
Sinuwa to Pokhara
Today is our last day on the trek. After a nice breakfast in Sinuwa, we will set off on the trekking trail towards Nayapul. From Sinuwa, we will first descend down to the beautiful Chhomrong village.
From Chhomrong village, if you want to come back the previous trial, we will take the trail on the left towards Jhinu Danda. But if you want to get back via the Ghandruk village, you should go right. This trek route takes you from Chhomrong to Ghandruk to Kimche and meets the previous trial at Siwal.
From Siwal, the trekking trail passes towards Birethanti. From Birethanti, we will walk to Nayapul. At Nayapul, we will find buses that will take us to Pokhara.
Pokhara is a beautiful city. You can stay there overnight if you have time. If not, you can either drive or fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara.

Best Time for Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Like most of the other popular treks in Nepal, the best time for Short trek to Annapurna Base Camp is during Autumn and Spring. Autumn (September, October, and November) is the most popular time. It is popular because of the favorable weather during the months of autumn. Autumn is well known for the clearest skies and best visibility. Also, the temperatures in the Annapurna region remains moderate making a suitable one for trekking. Spring (March, April, and May) is the second popular season to trek in the Annapurna region. Spring is the post-winter weather. While trekking in this time, you will see the entire wildlife and flora coming back to life after a harsh winter curse. The sprouts of the grasses and buds of flowers make the grasslands and forests look astounding. The weather remains good and the temperature remains moderate. Spring sky is beautiful, and the visibility is also good. You can do Annapurna trekking in any months or seasons. However, winter and monsoon are less popular for trekking there and back. During these seasons, the weather change is frequent. Also, bad weather chances are more prominent. So, you should gear up perfectly to go during these times.
Difficulties During Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek
- No acclimatization. Since there are no acclimatization days, you must take extra care against altitude sickness. Walk slow. Drink plenty of water.
- On the remote trails of Annapurna, you will be walking for 6 to 7 hours a day. This is definitely not gonna be easy. Train your body for all the hardships and hurdles.
- At higher altitudes, bad weather and temperature can strike at any time of the year. If the weather becomes worse, you might have a hard time coping with it.

Honestly one of this most memorable and beautiful weeks of my life, Annapurna base camp took my breath away with insane 360 views, the accommodation and food was perfect and I couldn’t recommend it more. While the walk itself was amazing what made it more special was our amazing guide and porter Gore and Rudra were the most supportive, funny, kind and generous people and we couldn’t has asked for a better team.
