Visit Nepal 2020 is a successful outcome of Nepal Tourism Year 1998 and 2011. The Tourism Board of Nepal has announced Nepal Tourism Year 2018 in 2015. But postponed due to the devastating Nepal Earthquake 2015. 

Thus, Nepal Tourism Council introduced a new tourism campaign “Visit Nepal 2020”; to promote rich natural resources, culture, traditions, arts, festivals, and adventure with the rest of the world. 

The main objective of this campaign is to attract 2 million tourists by the end of the year 2020. Thus, promoting Nepal on such a large scale offers job opportunities to local people; as Tourism is the largest industry in Nepal. Also, it is the largest source of foreign exchange and revenue.

This campaign categorized into 5 groups based on the activities and experiences gained from it. They are Culture and City, People and Heritages, Outdoor Adventure, Religious and Spiritual, Nature and Wildlife. So, to promote and develop these sectors, the Government of Nepal has boosted these places; with additional hotels, resorts, cafes, homestays for better accommodations. 

Similarly, for the arrival of tourists from all over the world; the Nepal Government constructed extra two International Airports in Bhairahawa and Pokhara. Along with maintenance and reconstruction of Tribhuvan International Airport. For the tourists visiting Nepal via land, there is road construction; which connects to major places in Nepal.
