Detail Itinerary

Tribhuvan International airport is where you will arrive in Nepal. This airport in Kathmandu is the only international airport in Nepal. Our representatives from Nepal Hiking Adventure will be there outside the airport terminal to meet and greet you. You can easily find them as they have a signboard that reads “Nepal Hiking Adventure”.

You will head out to your hotel with our representatives. You can relax in your hotel after a tiring international flight. If you want to, you can also visit beautiful small towns in Kathmandu like Thamel.

Our representatives will meet you in your hotel in the morning time. There they will discuss the trip with you. You will get information about the weather, difficulty, and other trek related information during this briefing. You can meet your guide along with other members of the trip this day.You will head out for a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley after the briefing Kathmandu is an ancient city. Its cultural and historical beauty make Kathmandu a wonderful place for sightseeing.

Pashupatinath Temple lies on the banks of the Bagmati river. It is the holiest Hindu site in Nepal, and possibly the world. The two-storeyed main temple has numerous monuments and pilgrimage surrounding it.

Boudhanath and Swayambhunath are the two most important Buddhist temples you in Nepal. You will visit these monasteries that are emblems of the Buddhist culture in Nepal. The peaceful setting of these places and the wonderful religious vibe is sure to delight you.

Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square are other places where you will go to during this trip. Temples like Krishna Mandir, Hanuman Dhoka, museums, and other king’s palaces make these squares quite popular amongst tourists in Nepal. The architecture of the temples here represent the medieval architecture of Nepal.

Today, you will head towards Syabrubesi- the starting point of your trek. The 7-8 hour bus ride to Syabrubesi(2380 meters) starts after you have breakfast in the morning.

Numerous rural settlements, towns, and farm villages will greet you on your way. Syabrubesi is a beautiful settlement to the north of Kathmandu valley. You will encounter many uphills and downhills along some winding ways on your way to Syabrubesi.

The bus ride to Syabrubesi takes you along plenty of hills that surrounds the Kathmandu valley. Trisuli Bazaar is one very popular market that you will come across on your way to Syabrubesi.

From Trishuli Bazaar, the bus ride takes you to places with higher altitudes and cooler temperatures. This will result in a starc change in people as well as culture as you go towards the higher regions.

Vegetation will also change with changing altitudes. The vegetation changes from paddy fields at lower altitudes to maize and millet fields as you drive higher up.

A few hours if drive from Trishuli Bazaar will take you to Dhunche (1,780m), an  attractive town of the Langtang region. This town lies in the premises of the Langtang National Park.

1 - 2 hours of drive from Dhunche will take you to Syabrubesi village (1460 meters). You will have your overnight stay in this village.

Today is the day you will start your trek. A trek of 5-6 hours from Syabrubesi will take you to Lama Hotel(3430 meters).

The trail initially descends to Bhote Koshi River before you take a path along Langtang Khola. As you walk along some uneven, rocky, and rugged paths along gentle uphills, you will reach Bamboo (1,960 m).

Walking further along some gently sloping trail from Bamboo, you will reach the destination of your lunch-break: Rimche (2400 meters).

You will get to Lama Hotel after trekking on an uphill path for one hour from Rimche. There have been many trekkers who have seen exotic animals like red pandas, monkeys, and bears on their way to Lama Hotel. So this might be the day where you glimpse the amazing fauna of this region.

Lama Hotel  has an awesome aroma. It is one of the best places for the overnight stay in the Langtang region. The sound of the nearby river is also a pleasant one during your during your stay in Lama Hotel.

You will leave the Lama Hotel after having breakfast. Firstly, you will trek though some cool rhododendron and oaks forest as you leave Lama Hotel. The trail through the forests is a gentle uphill.

After a few hours of trekking, you will reach a gorge. Walking along a steep path alongside Trishuli river, you will reach the village of Ghore-Tabela. “Ghore-Tabela” means “Horse Stable”. Pine, hemlock, and rhododendron forests surround the beautiful settlement of Ghore-Tabela.

After getting some rest at Ghore Tabela, you will resume your trek. You will then head out to Langtang village. As you walk past Ghore Tabela, you will walk through cool shade of the alpine wood. After trekking for an hour, you will get past the tree lines.

As you are making way to Langtang village, you will  come across some uphills set alongside winding tracks. After trekking for 5-6 hours from Lama Hotel, you will reach Langtang village(3430 meters), where you will spend your night.

Langtang village is home to the towering Langtang Himal that lies to the north of Langtang valley.

You will prepare for today’s trek to Kyanjin Gompa(3870 meters) after trekking on an uphill path for one hour from Rimche. A short portion of the beginning part of today’s trek is quite easy.

Then, you will be walking along some winding up hills. During the trail, you will come across high alpine shrubs and Burberry vegetation. You can also encounter many "mani-prayer wall" along the way.

The tradition of Tibetan Buddhism has it that you should trek past these prayer walls in the clockwise direction.

AS you head out towards the east, the Langtang valley opens up. This is quite discernible. After a while the trail takes you along some grassy meadows while enjoying views of the snow-capped mountains on the background.

After trekking for 3-4 hours, you will reach Kyanjin Gompa (3870 meters).

Panoramic views of the towering mountains of Langtang range makes the visit to Kyanjin Gompa delightful one. The Langtang Lirung (7,234m) peak is close to Kyanjin Gompa allowing for awesome viewing of the mountains. Equally superb are the views of the icefall of this mountain.

The Kyanjin Gompa monastery lies at the top of a ridge making it a good vantage point to see the towering mountains.

An easy stroll takes you to the cheese factory in the Kyanjin Gompa region. You can also choose to hike up to the moraine or climb up to Kyanjin Ri (4,350 m).

After the exploration of the natural as well as the cultural beauty of the Kyanjin region, it's time to head back down. Today, you will head back down to Lama Hotel(3430 meters) on a 6-7 hour trekking journey.

You will take the same trail on your way down with which you trekked up to Kyanjin. You will trek past the rhododendron forests to reach Langtang valley and Ghore-Tabela.

From there, the trail descends to the Trishuli river. A gentle trek from Trishuli will take you to Lama Hotel, where you will spend your night.

A one-hour trek from Lama Hotel will take you to a bridge. Along the way, you will also get to see some bamboo forests as well as rain forests.

You will cross the river down below on a bridge. After that, the trek is uphill that takes you past some rocks, boulders, as well as some terraced farms.

After trekking for 5-6 hours, you will reach Thulo Syabru (2250 meters). Thulo Syabru is also known as Upper Syabru. It is a quaint little settlement with a wonderful monastery nearby.

There is also a helipad nearby this monastery. A gentle walk from the village will take you to the monastery.

Today, you will head out to Sing Gompa(3254 meters) as you trek past Upper Syabru village. In the beginning, the trail takes you past the Monastery in Upper Syabru.

As you walk along some winding trail, you will also gain some altitude. In the far west, we will see the great views of Ganesh-Himal, Manaslu, Langtang and Annapurna range.

After a couple of hours of trekking, you will reach the teahouse, where you will have a refreshing stop. After the small break, you will continue your journey.

As you continue to trek uphill, the vegetation changes from farmlands to cool alpine forests. Trekking further from this thick forest, reach a meadow.

There are a couple of tea houses here where you can have your lunch. You will trek past pine and rhododendron forest in a pleasant track. The delightful views of Dhunche town down below is fascinating.

Now, you will reach Sing Gompa. The trek to Sing Gompa from Thulo Syabru is 4-5 hours long. The first few houses you will see in Sing Gompa are cheese factories.

Today will head out to Gosaikunda(4381 meters) in a 4-5 hour trekking journey. The trail gives you fantastic views of the snowy mountains. You'll see Langtang range to the north, Ganesh-Himal range to northwest, and Manaslu-Annapurna range to the west.

The initial 1 hour of the trek takes you along a steady uphill as you walk in of oaks, pines, and rhododendron forests. Then, you will reach a clearing, which gives you clear views of the mountains.

You will come across a couple of tea houses here. After a small break in one of the tea houses here, you will resume your trek. As you walk uphill, you will trek past the tree lines and lush vegetation.

You will see Rhododendron, juniper, and alpine shrubs bushes on your way to Lurabina. The trail then takes you along a descent for half an hour before you reach Saraswati and Bhairav Kunda. These are the first lakes you will reach in this region.

A gentle trek from these ponds and you will get to Gosainkunda for your overnight stop. Your resting place is near the Gosaikunda pond.

The full moon in August is when Gosaikunda sees a lot of pilgrims. Hindu devotees also take a bath in this holy pond. Faithful believe that a bath in this pond washes the sins of a person away and takes you to heaven.

Today, you will descend to Ghopte after crossing the Laurebina Pass. As you walk you will take the trail that lies along the bank of the pond.

From there, the trek takes you uphill to a small creek between rocks and boulders. After completing this section, you will reach the Surajkund pond.

As you trek past the pond, you will get to Gosainkunda pass or Laurebina La pass (4600 meters). This pass is also the highest altitude you will climb in this trek.

From this pass, the trail takes you along a steep descent to Phedi (3,694m). The Nepali word “Phedi” means “bottom”. After a strenuous climb and descent to Phedi, you will have your lunch here.

After a combination of the Lunch and rest break, you will resume trekking to the east to the Helambu region. The trail is easy though you will have to trek some moderate uphills and downhills. Walk across the junipers, rhododendron, and other alpine bushes along the way.

You will reach Ghopte (3440 meters) after trekking for 6 hours from Gosaikunda. Ghopte, which is a shelter to pilgrims, also has a few small caves. You will see some overhanging rocks in these wonderful caves.

After having breakfast in Ghopte, you will begin your trek yo Kutumsang. Today’s trekking journey is 5-6 hours long.

As you leave the wilderness of Ghopte behind, you will enjoin the trail of Helambu. This is the same trail that also goes to Kathmandu. The first hour of today’s trek takes you through alpine forests.

Then there will be another hour of an uphill climb to Tharepati (3,597m). Tharepati lies at the top of a high ridge. You can catch good views of the Jugal Himalayan range in the east. The Ganesh-Manaslu Himal towers in the west from the Tharepati ridge.

Tharepati is also the place where you will have your lunch. After the lunch break here, you will descend for a few hours to Mangeghot.

There are pleasant grassy fields in Mangeghot. There is also an Army Barrack nearby. You will trek for a few hours from Mangeghot past farm fields, villages, and small forested areas.

Now, you will reach Kutumsang village (2,445m). Kutumsang village has a majority of Sherpa and Tamang population.

You will trek to Chisapani Danda (2195 meters) from Kutumsang today. The duration of the trek is approximately 6-7 hours.

You will be descending with the smallest uphills, you will find the trek quite pleasant. After crossing various rural farm villages, you will get to Pati Bhanjayang.

This is a nice village that you will reach after trekking for 3-4 hours. A few hours of a trek from Pati Bhanjyang and you will reach Chisapani Danda where you will spend your night.

Chisapani Danda lies at the top of a beautiful hill. It is also one of the most popular short trekking destination in Nepal. Chisapani houses 4-6 teahouses. There is also an army camp right by the side of Chisapani.

From Chispani, you can see delightful views of various mountains. You will see the best views of Jugal Himal range, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Annapurna.

Beautiful hills surrounds Chisapani. It is a good vantage point to see the valleys down below and the stunning sunrise view.

Today is a gentle day’s trek as the trail involves walking downhill. You will walk past a few forests and farmlands on your way to Sundarijal from Chisapani.

You will walk along the Shivapuri National Park as you reach ridges like Burlang and Chepu Bhanjyang (2,438m). These ridges are excellent vantage points to see the Kathmandu valley.

Finally, after 3 hours of descent, you will get to Sundarijal, which is a wonderful spot. It is set amidst a nice patch of forest. It also has wonderful waterfalls which makes it a great spot for a picnic.

From Sundarijal, you will head out to Kathmandu in a car. Sundarijal is in the eastern suburb of Kathmandu. As you drive to Kathmandu, you will get past Boudhanath stupa.

This is a monumental structure in Kathmandu with its beautiful all-encompassing eyes of Lord Buddha. After a drive of one hour, you will reach Kathmandu.

This will be your final day in this awesome country of the Himalayas- Nepal.

The representatives from Nepal Hiking Adventures will drop you at the airport a couple of hours before your scheduled flight. You will to have all things needed at the airport including the air ticket and travel-related documents.
