Detail Itinerary

The only national carrier, Druk air A 319, arrives. The flight gives you breathtaking mountain and landscape views. You'll be provided by our guide upon arrival and after visa formalities.

Afternoon after lunch hike to Taktsang monastery viewing spot. Horses can have an extra payment planned. The hike through villages and pine forests which is all the way uphill takes about 2/3 hours. 800 meters from the Paro River, the monastery clings to a massive granite wall. The great saint Padma Sambhava is believed to have come on a flying tigress in the 7th century and to meditate in a cave for 3 months. The demons who tried to stop the spread of Buddhism and converted the Paro Valley into Buddhism were defeated. A monastery was founded at the spot where the saint mediated during the late 17th century and it is a pilgrimage site for every Bhutanese to visit once in his lifetime.

We take a drive to beautiful town of Paro after an early breakfast. In this tour our main goal is to visit Paro Tiger Nest. It's also named the Taktsang Monastery to climb up with normal walking to reach it for about 2 hours. Guru Rinpoche from eastern Bhutan is believed to have flew over Tiger's back and medicated at the cave for 3 months, it was an 8th-century myth. Bhutan's Pride is Tiger Nest. Visit the temple of Kichu which is one of the 108 temples built in the 7th century.

The Taktshang Monastery (Tiger's Nest) is the most recognizable cultural icon in Bhutan, perched 800m/2640 ft up an apparently pure cliff. Though in April 1998 it was tragically and mysteriously consumed by fire it has now been restored to its former glory. It's claimed that the great tantric master Guru Rimopche / Padma Sambhava flew to the site where the monastery now stands on the back of a tigress in the 8th century. It is optional as instead of hiking, tour can be performed according to your requirement. In the farmhouse we indulge in cooking, taking a bath and staying at a nearby farmhouse for a night gives a different variety, and an opportunity to see the inside of such a home, rather than just the brightly painted outside. If you're taking a hot stone bath and eating in the farmhouse you'll have to pay some dollars per person. We stroll through the beautiful streets of Paro later in the evening.

As you depart from Paro, you will be transferred from Thimpu to Paro, Onboard fly from Paro to Kathmandu via Druk Air and we will receive you at your arrival terminal.

When we move you to your respective Thamel hotels your Bhutan Tour Packages come to an end for 2 nights 3 days. If you have time, enjoy the few days in Nepal on the lap of mighty Himalayas or carry on to your destination.
