Detail Itinerary

The flight from your home country will land in the Tribhuvan International, Kathmandu. You can meet our representatives from Nepal Hiking Adventure outside the airport terminal. They will hold a display sign that reads “Nepal Hiking Adventure” so that you can locate them better.  Our representatives will also help you transfer to your hotel. You can relax in the hotel or you can go for a stroll around beautiful small towns in Kathmandu like Thamel.

Our representatives will meet you in the morning to discuss the trip. In this briefing, they will give you information regarding the trek like the weather, difficulty, what you need to expect during this trip etc. You can meet your guide and meet the various members of our trip.

After this pre-trip meeting, you will go for a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu is a temple with many UNESCO World Heritage Sites that make for an excellent sightseeing tour.

Pashupatinath Temple, which lies on the banks of the river Bagmati, is one of the holiest sites in Kathmandu. The main temple is two-storeyed with other small monuments and pilgrimage surrounding it.

Boudhanath and Swayambhunath are two Buddhist temples you will go to in this trip. These two temples give you a glimpse into the Buddhist culture. The peaceful setting of these two monasteries is sure to delight you in this trip.

Finally, you will also head out to Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square. These squares are full of various temples like Krishna Mandir, Hanuman Dhoka, museums, and other smaller temples. All of them are perfect representations of the architecture of Nepal in the medieval period.

Today, you will head out to Pokhara. After having breakfast at your hotel, you will take a tourist bus to Pokhara. As the bus leaves Kathmandu as heads out, you will get to see some beautiful, hills. These hills run alongside the gushing water of Trisuli and Marsyangdi River. On bright clear days, you can also catch glimpses of mountains like Ganesh Himal and the Manaslu peak. The bus ride to Pokhara is 6-7 hours long.

After you arrive in Pokhara, you can be involved in various activities. You can either take rest in your hotel. You can also head out for boating in Phewa Lake. There are also plenty of good restaurants in Pokhara where you can have fantastic meal. If there is time, you can also go to one of the caves there.

Today’s final destination is Tikhedhunga, However, you will have two types of a journey to Tikhedhunga. First of them is a drive to Nayapul (1070 meters). The bus ride to Nayapul is approximately 2 hours long. Nayapul also marks the starting point of your Annapurna Base Camp trek. As you begin your trek, you will also come across various trekkers from around the world. You might also encounter some domesticated animals like mules and donkeys.

After walking for a while, you will get to Birethanti village. Birethanti is a quaint village that lies at the convergence of two streams (kholas)- Modi and Bhurungdi Kholas. You will also cross a metal suspension bridge along the way. After trekking past a number of small farm villages and waterfalls, you will get to your overnight stop in Tikhedhunga. The trek from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga(1495 meters) is 3-4 hours long.

Today, you will hike up to Ghorepani in a 6-7 hour trekking journey. The initial part of today’s trek is quite challenging. The ascent to Ulleri takes you along thousands of staircases. All in all, you will cross 3200 stairs before reaching Ulleri. After the 2 hours uphill trek, the trek gets easier. From Ulleri, you can see a wonderful landscape of the valley floor. It also gives you stunning views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. 

As you trek higher, you will also notice a gradual change in the atmosphere. The temperature gets lower as the cool wind starts blowing. You can also see a discernible change in the vegetation. After trekking past numerous rhododendron forests, you will get Ghorepani(2860 meters). Ghorepani also houses the largest rhododendron forest in the world. Set along the beautiful landscape of the Annapurna region, the stay in Ghorepani is delightful.

Before the sun rises, you will head out for a one hour walk to the wonderful hill station of Poon Hill (3,190m) today. The walk is quite challenging as you will have to climb up hundreds of stairs to Poon Hill. However, the views of the sunrise from Poon Hill is astounding. You will also get to see panoramic views of mountains like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre amongst others from Poon Hill.

After a wonderful time here, you will descend to Ghorepani and have breakfast. Then, you will head out to Tadapani. Firstly, you will reach an upper ridge after trekking past some rhododendron forests. You will also trek past some temperate forests as you descend downhill. After crossing some steep uphills along the way, you will reach Bhanthahti, where you will have lunch. After trekking past a couple of streams, you will reach Tadapani(2630 meters).

Tadapani is a beautiful settlement which offers you grand views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (fishtail). The trek to Tadapani is 6-7 hours long. This includes the trek to Poon Hill and back.

Today, you will embark upon 5 to 6 hours of trekking journey to Chhomrong(2210 meters). Along the way, you will have ample time to explore various villages like Chuile, Kimrong Khola, Ghurjung, and Taulung. The trail is also quite easy as you walk through several rhododendron forests before getting to Chhomrong. Along the way, you will get to see various peaks like Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre etc. Chhomrong is a beautiful Tamang settlement. The hiking distance between Tadapani to Chhomrong is 7.6 kilometers.

The initial part of today’s trek is quite easy. You will descend for half an hour via stone steps Chhomrong to Chomrong Khola which you will cross on a beautiful suspension bridge. From there, the trek takes you uphill Khuldighar (2,380 m). Khuldighar was also renowned in the past for ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area) check post.

As you trek further, you will reach a clearing in ACAP before you go downhill to a rock bank. After trekking for 4-5 hours from Chhomrong as you cross bamboo and rhododendron forests, you will reach Himalayan Hotel (2920 meters).

Today, you will trek 5-6 hours and reach Annapurna Base Camp (4130 meters). The first settlement you will come across as you leave Himalayan Hotel is Deurali. From Deurali, the trek takes you to the mountainside of Bagar after you have climbed a steep uphill. A couple of hours of a trek from Bagar will take you to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700 meters). The hike up to Machhapuchhre Base Camp is a bit tiring.

A gentle trek of around two hours from Machhapuchhre Base Camp and you will reach Annapurna Base Camp. The trail from MBC to ABC is devoid of vegetation or forests that you encountered in the lower altitudes. The trails are also quite wide making the trek rather easy. Annapurna Base camp is home to the most astonishing panoramic views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli and other peaks.

The morning time at the Annapurna Base Camp is the most joyous part of your trek. The sun rises over these mountains and the colors of the mountains are of the most majestic golden color. After the staggering morning views, you will prepare for descent. There are no different trails on your way down. You will first descent to Machhapuchhre Base Camp and then take the trail alongside the river. Approximately 7-8 hours of the trek will take you to the settlement of Bamboo (2310 meters) where you will spend your night. This settlement gets its name from the lush Bamboo forests that surround it.

The descent from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1780 meters) is 5-6 hours long. You will descend to Chhomrong Khola from Khudighar. Crossing this stream, you will walk along a steep uphill to Chhomrong. Around half an hour of descent from Chhomrong will take you to Jhinu Danda. Jhinu Danda is also home to natural hot springs. A shower here will give a lot of relief to your aching body. You will get to the natural hot springs after around half an hour of downhill walk from your tea house in Jhinu Danda.

Today is the easiest day of your trek. The trek takes place mostly downhill. Along the way, the amazing hilly landscape of ACAP region will greet you beautifully. After trekking for 4-5 hours in the company of the gushing waters of Modi Khola, you will reach the village of Birethanti. The flat trekking trails won’t strain your legs. An hour and a half of a trek from Birethanti and you will reach Nayapul. Then, you will take a private transport to get to Pokhara. The ride to Pokhara from Nayapul is 1 hour long.

Note: *There is also an ongoing project of road construction that will Jhinu Danda to Naya Pul. If this complete, you can also drive from Jhinu Danda to Pokhara directly.

Today, you will drive back to Kathmandu in a bus. The ride is 6-7 hours long. The luxury tourist bus will also make your trip comfortable. Besides, you can also see various hills, flowing rivers, and glimpses of mountains on your way back to Kathmandu.

This will be your final day in this awesome country of the Himalayas- Nepal. We will drop you at the airport a couple of hours before your scheduled flight. Before leaving for the airport, you need to confirm that you have secured tour air ticket as well as other travel related documents. We wish you have a wonderful departure back home.
