Pisang Peak Climbing

Pisang Peak Climbing

Pisang Peak is one of the easier and non-expedition climbing peaks in Nepal. However, it is also considered a difficult climbing peak by handful professional climbers.

We can combine the classic Annapurna circuit with Pisang peak climbing following the same route. The trail to the peak leads through Besisahar in the Marshyandi valley up to Pisang village. Then, the trail follows the Manang valley which is rich in Tibetan Culture and unique landscape. If you look at Pisang peak from above Ongre, it looks more beautiful as a curved ridge with snow and ice just opposite of Annapurna II. The western flank of the mountain is guarded by a hanging glacier and offers a considerable challenge. Whilst the whole summit ridge which connects to a more northern ridge before curving back to the west end of the ridge offers a superb possibility for climbing. There will be snow at the high camp from the end of November to the end of March. From the summit the views of the Annapurna mountain range including Tilicho Peak, Annapurna II and IV, Ghangapurna and the Glacier Dome are truly splendid.

The trip begins from Chamje after 09 hrs drive from Kathmandu. The scenery is magnificent throughout the trail. You will have opportunity to see Annapurna range and Manaslu range and lush green wide valley of Marshyandi. The people are very friendly, helpful of this area. Trekking is well rewarded at both low and high altitudes, on the come within reach of to the Thorung La (17,769 ft) as well as during the descent from it. Close up views of the Annapurna range (40 miles between the two river valleys consists of twelve 7000 m higher peaks. Mixed ecosystems, diverse ethnic cultures and an ever-changing landscape - fertile, green fields and oak forests to dry deserts of Manang and the world's deepest river gorge of Kali Gandaki make this trekking one of the most popular in the world.
