Annapurna Circuit Trekking

Annapurna Circuit Trekking

length of the trekking route is 230 km and the trek begins from less than 1,000 m altitude past lush green valleys, and ultimately reaches its highest point at Thorong La pass at the elevation of 5416 m. From Thorong La pass you will observe perfect 360-degree breathtaking view of the entire Annapurna mountain ranges and Manaslu which make you feel that you dream come alive!

It gives an opportunity for trekkers to explore from different perspectives: picturesque villages, a moonscape of barren land, deep forested gorge and snow on high Thorong La. Normally all trekkers follow the route counter clockwise, as they gain altitude slowly and enable them to acclimatize properly before crossing the high Thorong La pass safely. After crossing the pass you will descend towards the world's deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki Valley, which is guarded by the massif peaks Dhaulagiri (8169m) and Nilgiri. The route connecting the Kali Gandaki valley and Beni, Pokhara is the ancient route that was used by traders long time back between Nepal, India and Tibet. This route is very popular for apple orchards and wheat farms and you will also get the opportunity to interact with local Thakali people and sharing some moments with sheep and yak herders.

The route begins from Beshisahar, follows the Marshyangdi River with great view of Mt Manaslu and Himal Chuli in the natural setting. You will notice wide variety of climatic zones while on trek from low altitude at 600 meters to the alpine reaching at 5416 m and cultural variation from Hindu settlements at the low foothills to the Tibetan culture of Manang Valley and lower Mustang. We lead you the route through rice terraces and bamboo forests crossing the suspension bridges and gently gaining the higher altitude. In spring time you enjoy nature's beauty all around walking through Rhododendron forests over the foothills of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri ranges.

Recently after construction of a road the trail has greatly shortened and the trekking can be completed quite early within 17 days with an average 5-6 walking hours per day from teahouse to teahouse.

The best time for trekking to Annapurna Circuit is in October and November, right after the rainy season. Until the end of September there is still a chance of rain, but from middle of October to end of November you will have always blue sky and almost no rain. In December -January it can be very cold and the pass Thorung La can be blocked due to snowfall.
